Kitten School of Hard Knocks

I know everyone is dying to know how Miles is doing. Well, for starters, it turns out that he’s actually a she. Fortunately, she doesn’t seem to be at all offended at the sex change. Her future mama decided that a name change is also called for and thought that Milee might be appropriate. I’m not sure what you get when you cross Miles Vorkosigan with a god of war, but hey, she’s the one that has to live with the result. A neighbor boy found him in a ditch that is now likely haunted by the ghosts of his siblings. He brought the poor thing to us. It’s flattering that we’re known in the neighborhood as people who can take care of distraught animals, actually (and will). Anyway, the veterinarian told us that he had only about a 50% chance of survival, particularly as he had an infection that could turn out to be...
